Corona Virus Pandemic certainly changed the way humanity has lived its life since 2020. Both students and future students are no exception, particularly with social distancing necessary to control the spread of this highly infectious disease.
Since 2020, students from pre-school to higher learning education are forced to adapt to a new normal. Which is to switch to online learning as a primary method of delivering education in all countries.
Wild dreams and ambitions of having a fantastic and fun student lifestyle for high school/secondary school graduates just disappear in 2020. Fun experiences like social gatherings, parties or even study groups are made unavailable to them. Honestly, it sounds pretty dull as higher education is supposedly the best time of any students’ life.
Nevertheless, because education is an essential part of our lives, it must GO ON!
Below we discuss with students of higher learning institutions the pros of learning remotely! Obviously, we may lose a portion of social activities. Still, let’s have a positive look at its advantage to not lose sight of the importance of getting an education!
More Freedom to Sleep and Take Breaks
For many students, being able to sleep in a little later, take restroom breaks as needed, and eat when they’re hungry is a plus. When they must wake up early for a long commute to a regular school, they may become sleepy during the day and struggle to focus on their in-class learning.
Waiting for timed class breaks to use the restroom and eat snacks at school might be distracting them from the teachers’ instructions. Students who participate in distance learning at home can complete their schoolwork while also taking care of their physical needs at their own pace.
Have the Ability to Learn at Their Own Pace.
Students who learn faster than their peers typically prefer remote learning because they are not held back by classmates who learn at a slower pace. Because work is scheduled for them, they can concentrate on the assignment and complete it so that they can move on to other tasks. Furthermore, if the student is a night owl or a morning person, they can study and do their work when they are most alert and able to absorb the information presented to them.
Improve Their Problem-Solving Capabilities
In many remote learning cases, students must solve problems on their own because the teacher is not always available to answer questions right away. The student improves their research skills, spends more time thinking deeply about the information, and even comes up with their own answer. When a student can figure out and solve a problem on their own, it boosts their confidence and self-esteem.
Get to Save some money and Cost during studies.
Another advantage of online learning is that it saves money. When compared to traditional learning, online education is far more affordable. This is due to the fact that online learning eliminates the costs of transportation, meals, and, most importantly, real estate. Furthermore, all course or study materials are available online, resulting in a paperless learning environment that is both more affordable and environmentally friendly. This is surely the biggest difference students notice as they go through their education online.
Stay Positive, Stay Strong, Because We ARE PANDEMIC SURVIVORS!
Realizing that everything has pros and cons, such as our other article sharing some of the negative experiences students face during this pandemic. We must always keep our goals in mind and try our best to achieve them regardless of our circumstances.
In summary, we as students may study in a very cost-efficient environment and be very flexible with our time. The lack of social activities may affect our mental health. As such, try to connect with friends and ask for help if you need any! There are always people willing to help, and you will realize things aren’t as dull and negative as it seems!
Stay Positive, Stay Strong, because we are Pandemic Survivors!
