Juara Beach
Juara Beach sits in a secluded bay on Pulau Tioman’s east coast. Just directly across the island from Tekek. You’ll get to experience the beach as a part of a tranquil village, Kamping Juara, with ush greenery, long beaches and calm waters teeming with coral reefs.
Juara Turtle Project
The Juara Turtle Project is a conservation effort to protect turtle nesting areas and the ecosystems that support them. The initiative’s goal is in reversing the damage done to our reefs and animal welfare on the island. Over 200 volunteers, school groups, and university students from all over the world coming every year to support the cause. If you have the time and desire, please come by to volunteer!
Kampung Air Batang (ABC Village)
If you’re looking for a place to chill or just looking for cheap accommodation, this place might be a priority. Kampung Air Batang is a traditional village with a laid-back atmosphere that attracts backpackers looking for cheap hostels. It also helps that this is the best place on the island for something resembling a nightlife, in the form of beach bars with lively atmospheres!
Monkey Bay
Monkey Bay is a lovely beach hidden behind Salang Village on Pulau Tioman’s west coast. It can be reached by speedboat or a jungle trail. This wonderful bay features a beautiful white beach, a tranquil pool of seawater, and lush rainforest surroundings. It is also a popular snorkelling location.
Asah Waterfall
Several waterfalls can be found on the island of Tioman. The best of them, however, is the Asah Waterfall. This beautiful waterfall, located in the semi-abandoned village of Kampung Asah off Mukut, forms a cascade that drops into a pool surrounded by granite slabs. As a result, it certainly helps that it is nestled deep within the tranquillity of the dense island rainforest, adding layers of peace and quiet. From Mukut, visitors can take a jungle trail to the waterfall park.
Dragon Horns
A long time ago, a dragon princess travelled from China to Singapore to join her beloved prince. She became tired and decided to rest in these warm, calm waters along the way. But because of its beauty and serenity that she chose to end her journey and transform into a dragon-shaped island instead.
Of course, this is only a storey. This, however, is how Tioman’s infamous “Dragon Horns” came to be. These horns are actually Gunung Semukut’s Twin Peaks. They are, in fact, one of Malaysia’s most popular rock climbing destinations. A trail leads from the base at Kampung Mukut up to the mountain, where it splits into different routes for climbers.
Coral Island
Pulau Tulai, also known as Coral Island, is a small island located eight nautical miles off the west coast of Pulau Tioman. The island is famous for its thriving corals and mesmerising deep water coral viewing for snorkelers to enjoy. The waters surrounding the island are teeming with marine life, making it a popular diving destination as well. Most resort packages or tour operators will include this in their itinerary, so you won’t have to plan for it. This is without a doubt one of the high points in a Pulau Tiomon trip.
