Zii Jia works hard to advance to the second round of the Hylo Opena. After all of the uncertainty surrounding his participation, singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia went on to play in the Hylo Open, but only made it to the second round.

Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew, who defeated Zii Jia in the first round of the French Open last week, continued his giant-killing streak by defeating Taiwan’s top seed and French Open runner-up Chou Tien-chen 21-18, 21-13.
He will next face France’s Toma Junior Popov.
Hendrawan, who was unsure whether to field Zii Jia due to his inconsistent form and mental tiredness before finally giving the nod, said he expected the shaky start in Germany.
“That’s Zii Jia for you. He usually struggles in the opening game but I believe he will only get better after this,” Hendrawan stated.
